- Own the monetization P&L — set and deliver the growth and revenue target across your category, and be accountable for the number end to end.
- Build the category annual plans — bottom-up targets by category and brand, the assumptions behind them, and the quarterly milestones that make the annual number credible. Own the re-forecast when reality moves.
- Build the category strategy and brand playbook — decide which categories and brands to prioritize, how to price and package solutions, what the pitch is, and what the reachout motion looks like at scale. Turn what works into something repeatable, not a series of one-off wins.
- Hunt and farm brand budgets — build the pipeline from the ground up, run the outreach, negotiate deals, and grow spend from existing brands season over season. You'll be as comfortable opening a cold brand as expanding a live one.
- Set and drive targets across teams — translate the category plan into clear targets for the respective category KAMs, align them on the why, and run the review cadence that keeps everyone honest against the number.
- Run the category on data — build the metrics and dashboards that matter, use them to spot opportunities and diagnose problems, and translate analysis into decisions (not just charts).
- Partner cross-functionally — work with sales, product, creator, and marketing teams to execute your plan when you don't directly control every lever.
- Shape how we monetize — as an early owner, define the playbook for categories that others will build on.
- 5–7 years in category management at an FMCG / CPG or beauty & personal care (BPC) brand, or on the e-commerce / quick-commerce / marketplace side.
- A track record of owning a commercial or revenue number — ideally monetization, ad revenue, or retail media (not only supply, assortment, or vendor management).
- Experience planning a target bottom-up and then landing it across teams you don't directly manage.
- Strong, hands-on data and analytics ability — comfortable in Excel/Sheets and BI tools, and able to manipulate data yourself rather than relying entirely on an analyst.
- Proven experience building business partnerships and alliances — sourcing, negotiating, and growing brand relationships.
- Strategic and hands-on in equal measure — you can set the plan and also do the work in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Strong commercial judgment and communication — able to influence stakeholders and make sound trade-off calls.
- Experience with retail media or ad-monetization products on a platform/marketplace.
- Exposure to the creator, influencer, or affiliate-commerce ecosystem.
- Have built a monetization or GTM motion from scratch before.
- Full ownership of a category's monetization — not a slice of it.
- A rare role that genuinely blends strategy, hands-on data, and partnerships.
