Job Type: Fixed Term Contract - 23 months

Location: Hybrid role based in Edinburgh

The role  

This role will work effectively across Group Brand & Marketing and Corporate Affairs & Brand contributing to an increasingly integrated operating model with shared priorities, connected workflows and clear interfaces. To support the Senior Social Media Lead in the delivery of a market leading brand and content experience by assisting with the planning, creation, analysis and coordination of social media and marketing content across Standard Life and wider Group initiatives. The role provides hands on exposure to content production, channel management, event support and customer experience delivery, while developing skills in brand governance and performance analysis. Working collaboratively across the Brand Marketing & Experience team, the role helps ensure consistent, engaging and compliant brand activity, while offering a strong development foundation for a future career in marketing and content experience.

As part of the role, you will follow brand, compliance and quality standards.  You will be confident applying brand governance and regulatory requirements to ensure all outputs align with Group standards and support consistent, high quality brand execution.

You will also be supported in obtaining a formal qualification in Marketing.

What are we looking for?

  • Basic understanding of marketing, content or social media principles. Demonstrates awareness of how brand, content, social media and marketing activities work together across a wider marketing system.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable working with colleagues across Group Brand & Marketing, Channel Marketing and other internal teams to support cross functional delivery.
  • Comfortable using or exploring AI-enabled tools and a willingness to learn to enhance content planning, social analytics and productivity, ensuring outputs meet brand, regulatory and compliance requirements. 
  • Curiosity, initiative and a growth mindset. Shows enthusiasm for developing technical, creative and professional skills through hands on work, feedback, rotational learning and exposure to content creation, social media, digital experiences and event delivery.
  • A degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in Brand, Marketing or a related discipline is preferable.
  • Some experience of working in a professional or office environment (for example through a placement, internship or part‑time role) would be beneficial
  • Some experience of using MS Office applications such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel to create reports and presentations
