First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Brand Communications Manager in the Marketing department. The Brand & Communications Manager owns FDB’s brand voice and public narrative — including editorial planning, social presence, media relations, customer stories, and the website editorial layer — and leads the cross-functional content programs that keep that story consistent, credible, and clinically accurate across every channel.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced brand and communications professional who wants to own meaningful scope inside a growing healthcare technology marketing team. The Brand & Communications Manager will manage vendor and agency relationships, lead content programs that span Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, Clinical and Executive stakeholders, and help position FDB’s brand consistently as the company expands from drug knowledge provider to clinical guidance partner.

This position is based out of our South San Francisco, CA, Durham, NC or Carmel, IN office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work onsite at least three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Own brand voice, editorial planning, crisis communication and FDB’s public narrative across social presence, media relations, customer stories, blogging and the website editorial layer.

  • Approve routine external content and media engagement within approved talking points; escalate new positioning, sensitive claims, and external risk to the Vice President of Marketing.

  • Manage day-to-day vendor and agency relationships; recommend vendor and messaging changes.

  • Lead cross-functional content programs spanning Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Clinical stakeholders.

  • Guide responsible use of AI-assisted content tools — building reusable brand controls, prompt libraries, templates, and factual-error review workflows — to expand production capacity while keeping brand voice and clinical accuracy human-led.

Required Skills:

  • Strong B2B content and media track record, with demonstrated ownership across multiple channels (web, social, media relations, customer stories).

  • Vendor and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and editorial judgment, including the ability to operate confidently with AI-assisted tools under human review.

  • Ability to translate brand strategy into day-to-day editorial decisions and content standards.

  • Collaborative style with strong cross-functional partnership across Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Clinical teams.

Required Experience:

  • 5–7 years of communications experience, including demonstrated ownership of cross-functional programs.

  • Healthcare or health-IT experience preferred, or demonstrated ability to quickly build fluency in a regulated, clinically sensitive content environment.

  • Experience managing vendor and agency relationships.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
