payabl. empowers businesses to grow through payments innovation and banking services. Our ambition is to expand our strong portfolio of global financial services we provide to businesses and make them all available in one place on our platform we call payabl.one. As a licensed financial company with principal membership with card schemes, we specialize in global payments and providing businesses with multi-currency accounts.
The role is about:
We’re hiring a senior creative lead to own our visual brand vision and build a high-performing, proactive design function. This role will set the art direction, evolve and design the visual identity system, and ensure consistent, on-brand execution across all channels: marketing, employer branding, internal communications, events, and co-branded assets.
You will manage our in-house designers, bridge agency → internal execution, and elevate our ways of working — from intake and prioritization to quality standards and review processes.
Reporting line: CMO
Location: Lithuania or Cyprus
What you will do:
- Define & lead visual/art direction — Translate brand positioning into a living visual system and guidelines. Ensure consistency across digital, print, employer brand, internal comms, events, and co-branded work. Proactively push creativity (trend scanning, CGI/motion/AI opportunities, competitor awareness) rather than waiting for briefs.
- Team leadership & org design — Manage, coach, and inspire the in-house team. Assess skills, roles, and capacity; propose restructuring where needed.
- Ways of working & throughput — Build clear workflows (ticketing, prioritization, feedback loops) that serve marketing as a whole, not just task closure.
- Raise the creative bar & quality control — Establish review rituals, feedback standards, and a clear definition of “done” for every asset. Protect and strengthen brand integrity.
- Stakeholder management & translation — Partner with Marketing and cross-functional leaders to translate business goals into visuals. Shape briefs and offer constructive solutions.
- Agency/freelancer interface — Brief, QA, and integrate external partners. Ensure external output aligns with our system and standards.
- Hands-on when needed — Remain craft-capable for key assets and for unblocking or setting examples.
What we need:
- 6+ years in visual/brand design, including 2+ years leading teams (ideally within SaaS, tech, or product-led companies).
- Proven in-house experience driving a brand from conception to execution across multiple channels. (Agency background is a plus, but you must have owned the brand end-to-end inside a company.)
- Portfolio that demonstrates visual systems, rebrands/launches, employer brand creative, and consistent multi-channel application.
- Skilled at briefing and QA-ing agencies/freelancers while building and coaching strong in-house design teams.
- You live and breathe creativity, staying curious about trends and able to inspire others with fresh ideas.
- Known for reliability and accountability — stakeholders trust you to deliver consistently and at high quality.
- A clear communicator and patient leader who can guide non-design stakeholders and support team growth.
- Hands-on craft when needed; familiarity with design systems, project management tools (Jira or similar), and structured review processes.
- Bonus: experience with motion/CGI/3D or integrating motion into a brand system.
👉Depending on whether this role will be based in Cyprus or Lithuania, the specific benefits package may vary. The TA team will walk you through the details during the first interview.
