Astellas’ Global Capability Centers – Overview
Astellas’ Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are in India, Poland and Mexico.
The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

This position is based in Bengaluru and will require some on-site work.

Purpose and Scope:

The Pipeline and Brand Analytics Chapter Member is part of the Customer Engagement Excellence (CEE) team within the broader Value Delivery organization. CEE is an integrated global group focused on supporting capabilities across VALUE Delivery, including Commercial (Sales/Marketing), Market Access and Medical Affairs, to enhance delivery and outcomes to the business, whilst prioritizing ethical decision making. During all such activities, there is a need to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs capabilities is not compromised. The Chapter Member is expected to proactively communicate and consult with their Chapter and Value Team Leads as necessary to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs is maintained at all times.
The Pipeline and Brand Analytics Chapter Member drives analytic activities and outcomes aligned with the Pipeline and Brand Analytics Chapter, providing strategic analytic insights and actionable recommendations to stakeholders to support achievement of brand or pipeline objectives.
In the role of Chapter Member, the individual executes day-to-day activities within their assigned Value Team, with responsibilities that may vary according to the team’s mandate. Within the Value Team, the Chapter Member focuses on resolving specific business challenges for the organization. Value Teams are established and evolve in response to changing business objectives, and Chapter Members serve as key business partners, applying their expertise to drive organizational results.
As a Value Team member, the individual collaborates with cross-functional resources to achieve defined objectives and outcomes, working from a prioritized backlog of tasks. The Chapter Member works directly with the Value Team Lead to execute the team’s strategy and deliverables in alignment with its mission.
The Chapter Member receives capability and skillset development under the guidance of the Chapter Lead, who provides coaching and mentoring within the Agile model.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Value Team Delivery:

  • Deliver day-to-day tasks and responsibilities as defined by the Value Team’s mandate based on business objectives
  • Support the Value Team Lead in executing the team’s strategy and objectives
  • Apply expertise to address and resolve specific business challenges identified by the Value Team, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes as defined by the objectives
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to accomplish prioritized objectives and deliverables

Area specific Responsibility & Accountability:

  • Execute advanced analytics (e.g., segmentation, adherence, HCP network analysis, patient flows) to identify opportunities, drive brand/pipeline strategies, and inform investment decisions.
  • Provide actionable, context-based insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Identify, standardize, and automate integration of critical reporting metrics and modeling tools to address brand/asset-specific needs and improve speed to insight.
  • Manage projects to achieve timelines and deliverables
  • Develop, define and deliver prioritized ad hoc analysis as needed to support evolving business requirements and to provide timely business insights.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and participate in initiatives to improve team effectiveness and efficiency
  • Drive analytical capability innovation through development of new methodologies/analytic techniques

Skill Development and Learning:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and capability building, leveraging guidance from the Chapter Lead
  • Lead selection and application of statistical modeling techniques; mentor colleagues on analytic methods.
  • Maintain proficiency among data systems, programs, and software resources (e.g., AWS Redshift, Databricks, SQL, Python), to ensure optimal and efficient achievement of department objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of various data sources, including HCP and consumer promotion data, as well as their appropriate applications, to facilitate rigorous analytic process design and reliable business insights generation.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Adhere to established standards, policies, and leading practices relevant to the Value Team and Chapter, ensuring compliance in areas such as data privacy

Agile:

  • Utilize agile approaches, collaborate in agile ceremonies and Ways of Working to ensure effective delivery for the business
  • Collaborate and foster a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to change, enabling the team to thrive in an agile environment
Preferred Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in data science, Statistics, or Computer Science or other analytics-related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics with proven experience in managing projects of increasing size and complexity.
  • Familiarity and understanding of coding languages (e.g. SQL, Python is preferred).
  • Working knowledge of various statistical modelling techniques and their application within complex analytical projects, e.g., regression modelling, ROI, natural language processing, machine learning, etc.
  • Ability to interpret data in the context of brand/asset and commercial objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources, e.g., JMDC, MDV.
  • Working knowledge of Japan healthcare environment
  • Understanding of the role of a global function within broader enterprise strategy
  • Previous experience in a global role or working with cross-functional teams
  • Highly coachable/ Thrives in an environment of continuous growth

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS. in quantitative discipline or MBA with Marketing Analytics, Decision Science, or Analytical Finance Concentration
  • Working knowledge of one or more data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau and QlikSense
  • Experience working with global partners

Working Environment

  • This position is based in Global Capability Center (GCC) in India.
  • To enable collaboration within the GCC 2-3 days per week on-site working is expected
  • To enable collaboration with US stakeholders, this role is expected to work 2-11 pm.
  • This role will be a member of a brand or pipeline specific Value Team working following agile methodology to deliver impact

Skills Required
