About the Job
In this role, the Transplant Technical Specialist participates in and supervises the daily operation of the bone marrow transplant processing laboratory to insure the precision and reproducibility of cord bleed, stem cell and bone marrow cell manipulations for transplantation in patients in accordance with governmental agencies, ie FDA, NMDP and the Foundation on the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) standards and guidelines. *Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required** Overseeing Bone Marrow Transplant processing lab.
Here's what you'll do
- Develop training, lab operation, quality assurance program and maintenance processes.
- Provide input and work with Facility Director and Scientific Review Board on determining and implementing future direction of the Facility.
- Organize, schedule and supervise lab processing and testing procedures. Supervise QC related procedures.
- Teach all aspects of progenitor cell processing to medical technical visitors. Supervise data reporting personnel for CIBMTR, NMDP, managing all aspects of study related requests to meet CPI requirements to meet compliance.
- Perform stem cell selection, cryopreservation and expansion
- Develop new procedures to enhance laboratory efficiency and patient
care. In addition develop procedures for processing and testing for
various IRB approved clinical studies.

- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
- Lead Experience: 1-2 years
- Specify Degree(s): Medical Lab Science/Technologist Program
Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
- Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP MLS) or Certified Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist (ASCP AMT)

Pay Range: $33.00 – $48.00 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
