The ideal candidate must reside within the state of Missouri or within 50 miles of the Kansas City area
Manages and promotes the fidelity and surety operations at the branch level. Maintains a profitable book of business and relationships with agency force and accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Makes informed and timely underwriting decisions regarding contract surety, non-contract surety and fidelity business over a certain amount
- Reviews underwriting decisions made by underwriting team
- Provides approval, declination and recommendation for review on bid requests in excess of team’s authority level
- Meets with agents to assist in the acquisition and underwriting of fidelity and surety business
- Acts as a point of contact with agencies to answer their questions and concerns
- Supervises bond underwriting and support team
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
- Seven years of surety and fidelity experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- AFSB designation preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent knowledge of fidelity and surety underwriting
- Ability to review and understand financial statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Occasional travel, valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards will be required if traveling
The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either the $97,000-$134,000 range or the $107,000-$148,000 range. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
