The role of the Mechanical Technician L2 is to: Safely and efficiently conduct various mechanical activities under light supervision of the Mechanical Supervisor. These activities include unbolting and bolting up flanges, including controlled bolting and other general boiler making activities. The Mechanical Technician L 2 can safely conduct basic mechanical activities inside the vessel.
Tasks/abilities:
- Demonstrate ability to correctly unbolt flanges, clean flange faces, install correct gaskets and bolt-up flanges up to 16" and manways up to 30" with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of isometric drawings
- Identify if equipment is isolated and depressurized
- Can correctly torque flanges
- Assist with tensioning of flanges
- Basic understanding of HAZMAT
- Basic understanding of LO/TO procedures
- Basic HSE knowledge
- Communicate progress and is able to identify possible issues and work with Supervisor can load catalyst, safely, efficiently and according to quality requirements
- Assists with any work defined as Catalyst handling Technician L3.
Required:
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- TWIC-card
- Good background score to be able to enter all client facilities
- DOT or equivalent Physical
- NCCER mechanical advanced
- NCCER rigging
- Controlled bolting certificates
- Plant required course and certifications
- Respirator fittest
