Scope of Position
This safety-focused and quality-driven individual, as part of the Production team, is responsible for the assembly and finishing of boiler components in one or more manufacturing disciplines, including tubing, insulation, refractory, pipefitting, and painting. The role ensures products are assembled according to specifications, quality standards, and production schedules while supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position reports to the Production Supervisor. This role is onsite and based in Hutchinson, KS.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop orders, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Operate air tools, power tools, and standard hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assemble boiler components and related equipment according to specifications and quality requirements.
- Ensure components are properly installed and finished to achieve required appearance, fit, and functionality.
- Assist with training and mentoring employees within assigned departments as needed.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve workplace safety and reduce injuries or hazards.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve production goals and schedules.
- Complete assigned operations within established quality standards and expected production times.
- Inspect work and identify defects or issues requiring correction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and manufacturing processes.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Company management.

Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Ability to read and understand shop orders, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Ability to safely operate air tools, power tools, and standard hand tools.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, twist, squat, climb ladders, and work from scaffolding, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Experience using precision measuring tools and performing quality inspections.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s location in Hutchinson, KS. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
