About Chebeague Island Inn

Position Summary
We are seeking part-time Back of the House Restaurant Help to join our seasonal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant from cooking, dishwashing, food preparation, and more. Candidates should be aware specific responsibilities could change daily, depending on operations.
These are part-time seasonal roles starting early mid-May to early October (exact dates may vary). The candidate will need to have reliable transportation to and from Chebeague Island Inn or find housing on the Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, standards, and plating guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety and health code regulations (FIFO, proper storage, temp checks)
- Work efficiently and communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory
- Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during peak hours
- Support team members across stations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality and kitchen experience (cooking, dishwashing, food preparation)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
