Job Description:

The Powder Room Blender/Compounder safely mixes, blends, and processes dry chemical powders. This position will operate industrial blending equipment to manufacture products according to strict formulas, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Batch Uniformity: Measure and feed raw chemical powders into blending machinery.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and clean industrial blenders, sifters, and scales.
  • Quality Control: Inspect raw materials and take samples of finished batches for lab testing.
  • Documentation: Record required information related to batch processing.
  • Sanitation: Clean and sanitize blending rooms and equipment between batches to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor raw material levels and report shortages to supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or batch compounding preferred.
  • Ability to read formulas, work orders, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Proficient in basic math.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.
  • Experience working with PPE; safety shoes/boots, gloves, and safety glasses.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to airborne dust, chemical odors, and industrial machinery.
  • Non-climate controlled.
  • Requires continuous use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
