As a Biostatistician, you will provide statistical expertise to investigators/researchers interested in conducting clinical or experimental studies. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow team members, focusing on areas of study design, database management, statistical programming, analysis, graphic creation and reporting interpretations. You will gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies, all while utilizing your expertise to help promote Cleveland Clinic initiatives.
A caregiver in this role works days from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Consult with investigators to determine questions of interest and data needed to address those questions.
Determine and carry out appropriate statistical analyses.
Interpret and present data descriptions and analysis results, including the explanation of statistical techniques used, the assumptions made and the generalization of results.
Document methods and results through preparation of reports.
Write statistical methods sections of manuscripts and abstracts for publications or presentations.
Write computer programs to analyze data using available statistical software.
Advise users how to best utilize database information.
Design study and data collection instrumentation to best answer questions within given time and personnel constraints.
Communicate with key entry staff for accurate entry of data.
Edit, organize and maintain computerized data files.
Handle multiple simultaneous projects or multiple aspects of a large project.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated expertise in standard statistical software and database management packages
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
