Position Summary:
The Biorepository Assistant will be assigned administrative task to assist in the daily running of the laboratory and office. This position will aid in ensuring a functional, clean work environment and will be responsible for safe handling of material.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Complete directed tasks as specified by Manager, Biosample Logistics and Distribution and/or Project Manager and/or Project Specialist
- Re-file material as needed
- Assist with inventory reduction
- Maintain a clean workspace – including but not limited to emptying trash as needed, organize space as requested, and clean office spaces once a week
- Orders necessary supplies as directed
- Ensure adequate inventory with a monthly checklist
- Completes work consistently within acceptable time limits established by the Manager, Biosample Logistics and Distribution.
- Carry out other duties/project as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-1 year of relevant working experience
Other Required:
- Good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills and must work well in a group environment
- Must be a flexible agile team player who can change activities and directions quickly and respond to a variety of assignment and changing business needs
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions and maintain an organized environment
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, minimum lifting (no more than 60 lbs.), bending, stooping, normal or corrected visual acuity, hearing and good manual dexterity
- Ability to lift or carry up to 60 pounds or pull or push no more than 50 pounds
- Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
Preferred:
- Basic laboratory skills
