This role will report to APAC Product Director, Upstream, working closely with commercial teams, and be responsible for overall upstream products and potential new product launch across whole China territory. bridging global Upstream strategy into execution is key deliverables and act as product owner in global teams’ collaboration to deliver China customers’ needs and requirements.
Key success is measured by adoption of our Upstream product in customer’s new molecule workflow to gain sustainable growth. And the NPI successfully launching in the field.
1. Product Application Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical expertise to customers and sales teams on product usage, formulation adjustments, and performance optimization, to gain sustainable business growth within responsible territories.
- Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials to demonstrate product functionality in customer-specific applications.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to product performance, stability, or compatibility.
2. Customer Collaboration & Solution Development:
- Work closely with key customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including application guidelines, case studies, and best practices.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops for customers and internal teams.
3. Cross-Functional Product Development Support:
- Collaborate with R&D and Product Development teams to refine formulations based on market feedback.
- Provide input on China-specific application requirements for new product development.
- Support the scale-up of new products from lab to production.
4. Market & Competitive Intelligence:
- Analyze competitor products and benchmark performance against company offerings.
- Identify emerging trends and unmet needs in the China market to guide innovation.
5. Regulatory & Compliance Support:
- Ensure product applications comply with regional regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in preparing technical dossiers for product registration when needed.
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience:
- More than 3 years of relevant experience in technical support, application development, or related roles, preferably in Biopharmaceutical upstream relatives.
- Hands-on experience with lab/pilot-scale equipment and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with China market dynamics and customer needs.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture (CHO, HEK293) or microbial fermentation (E. coli, yeast), bioreactor operations (bench-scale to pilot-scale), including fed-batch, perfusion, and high-density cultures, process optimization (media development, feeding strategies, process parameter tuning), It is better to have PAT or DOE knowledge/background.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations

Travel Requirements:
- Up to 30% travel within China for customer visits, trials, and technical support. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours to accommodate different work schedules.
