The role is based at the manufacturing site in Niebüll, Germany. Be part of a collaborative, innovative, and solution-oriented Manufacturing Technology team where together we can create meaningful impact and drive operational excellence across our global production network. This position will serve mainly the Niebüll site but could also have some regional responsibilities.
Where You'll Make a Difference
Manage and execute inter-site process transfers, ensuring successful implementation and operational readiness.
Lead the industrialization of new strains and support scale-up activities from development to commercial manufacturing.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on production portfolio optimization, process performance and cost efficiency.
Identify process improvement opportunities at manufacturing scale and implement sustainable solutions that enhance operational performance.
Participate in global Manufacturing Technology networks and contribute to the technology, supply, and business objectives.
Investigate process-related challenges and lead root cause analysis activities to resolve operational issues effectively.
Collaborate with Process Research & Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to ensure successful project execution and knowledge transfer.
Monitor and improve key operational performance indicators while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Support capital investment projects by providing process expertise and basic data.
What Makes You the Right Fit
Master's degree or Engineering degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in bioprocess engineering within an industrial or pilot-scale manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial microbiology, fermentation technologies, and downstream processing operations.
Good knowledge of different unit operations including fermentation, centrifugation, membrane filtration, cryogenic freezing, and lyophilization.
Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and managing technical projects.
Good understanding of process equipment including pumps, valves, instrumentation, piping systems, and utilities.
Practical knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics and their application in industrial production environments.
Proficiency in leveraging digital tools and data-driven approaches to improve process performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel regionally to support manufacturing sites and process-related projects.
