Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Biomedical Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical equipment across the entire hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation,
commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of biomedical equipment across clinical and support departments.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, inspect, test, commission, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment across the hospital.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for medical equipment.
• Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting for equipment breakdowns and faults.
• Support critical clinical areas including Cardiac Services, ICU, Operating Theatre, Oncology, Renal Services, Radiology, Laboratory, and other hospital departments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, calibration, repairs, warranties, and service history.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, performance testing, and calibration of biomedical equipment.
• Coordinate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), vendors, and external service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Support the installation and commissioning of newly acquired medical equipment.
• Participate in the technical evaluation and specification of medical equipment during procurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in biomedical/clinical engineering, preferably within a hospital environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a broad range of hospital medical equipment.
- Experience with critical care, theatre, diagnostic, laboratory, cardiology, oncology, renal, or other specialized medical equipment is an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of patient monitors, ventilators, anaesthesia machines, defibrillators, infusion pumps, ECG machines, operating theatre equipment, dialysis equipment, and other critical medical devices.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, equipment safety testing, and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to interpret equipment manuals, technical specifications, electrical/electronic diagrams, and service documentation
- Open to candidates from India and Pakistan only.
- Successful candidate must be able to meet applicable Nigerian immigration, work authorization, and professional requirements.
Skills Required
