Bioassay Intern

Role Overview

Legend Biotech is seeking a Bioassay Intern as part of the Bioassay team based in Somerset, NJ for our 2025 Summer Internship Program, which will run from June 9th, 2025, to August 15th, 2025. The intern will investigate the role of micro vesicles (MVs) in tumor progression and autoimmune disease (AID) by analyzing patient-derived or experimental samples. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Literature review: understand the biogenesis and functions of MVs, recent studies linking MV with tumor microenvironment and AID conditions. 
• Samples preparation and processing: work with normal or patient derived fluids (e.g., blood, serum), perform isolation of MVs with different method. 
• Characterization of MVs: Assess MV markers using flow cytometry, analyze RNA and protein cargo in MVs via RT-qPCR or ELISA. 
• Data analysis and interpretation: Interpret results and compare findings with literature.  

• Undergraduate student in biology, molecular biology, biomedical science, or related field.  
• Technical skills (Preferred but not mandatory), basic experience with centrifugation and pipetting. 
• Knowledge of PCR, ELISA or flow cytometry is a plus. 
• Prior lab experience with molecular or cellular biology is an advantage. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as a team member. 
• Good communication skills for results reporting.
