What you'll do:Responsible for selling IDEXX Preclinical and Research animal health Monitoring Lab services
Establish and maintain relationships of existing and potential customers, including preparing and following up on quotations and bids.
Deliver seminar-type presentations to individuals or groups of potential and existing customers on our complete range of services, including hands on product demonstrations.
Assist customers with questions of a technical nature concerning lab services and instrumentation.
Coordinate and drive educational seminars in Key Strategic areas.
Attend and participate in Trade shows, including booth duties, leads generation and follow up.
Complete all sales administration, including completing all Salesforce.com requirements & territory management activities.
Business review participation, including presentation of financial models, cost justification, comparison and market feedback. Communicate competitive issues to marketing organization and business unit manager.
Responsible for translating customer needs into custom profiles with the assistance of IDEXX study coordinators and technical research staff.
Responsible for customer billing questions, assistance in resolution disputes, collections and customer satisfaction.
Achieve and maintain technical knowledge and situational fluency of Bioresearch Market.
Knowledge of life sciences in a research environment
B.S. Biology, Chemistry or other Life Science Related Field
Masters Degree or advanced preferred
5-10+ years of successful Life Science, Research, or Preclinical sales experience in the life-science market required, animal model sales experience preferred
Previous experience selling into top Life Science accounts (Human and Veterinary Pharmaceutical, and/or CROs)
Minimum 2 years laboratory experience in life science research strongly preferred, including animal studies
Experience selling into life science research markets
Strong experience and understanding of comparative research and animal studies
Demonstrated ability to develop, grow and manage customer relationships
Strong Territory Management and Organization - ability to successfully manage and grow a multi-state territory
Demonstrated strong sales and closing skills as well as consultative sales
Documented track record of success in achieving sales goals.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build strong customer relationships, and build outstanding relationships with customers & colleagues
Skilled in needs assessment and able to develop customer specific solutions.
Professionally mature, with flexibility and the ability to adapt to an independent and team-oriented environment.
Integrity, keeping commitments to colleagues, customers and the company
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Experience with Salesforce.com highly preferred
Territory Information:
Includes NC, VA, DC, MD, PA. The ideal homebase location is DC or Philadelphia metro areas. This would limit travel to 33% overnight travel. If you are based out of NC or VA you will have more travel (approximately 50%)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position involves a potential for exposure to chemical and biological agents known to cause disease in humans, radioactive materials and use of hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29CFR).
A complete list of such chemical is available from the department supervisor or safety officer.
