Summary
The Bingo Caller calls out the numbers in the Bingo game and operates the equipment that randomly selects the numbers. The Bingo Caller also makes announcements over the public address system to Bingo players and guests. The Bingo Caller receives, maintains and is accountable for a monetary bank as well as issue of Bingo paper and /or any related Bingo retail merchandise.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assures guests the highest standard of service.
- Maintains accountability of all Bingo balls during the session.
- Announces house rules and promotions in a manner that is clear and understandable.
- Announces numbers on balls in play as they blow out of the hopper and ensures the number is visible on the monitors.
- Stops games when Bingo is called and verifies the validity of each potential winning card through the cards serial and card number.
- Maintains all equipment and ensures all is in working order prior to each session beginning.
- Ensures that all information on signage is current and correct.
- Collects and verifies monetary bank; signing for it at the beginning of each shift.
- Verifies any Bingo paper and/or related merchandise; signing for it at the beginning of each shift.
- Accurately issues change.
- Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received.
- Inventories issued cash assets and compares totals on cash register with amount of currency on hand to verify balances, or compares sales of items with cash to ensure cash balances.
- Assists the Bingo Caller in verification of potential winning cards.
- Operates machines such as computer terminal, point of sale system, adding machine, calculators, and electronic Bingo equipment.
- Promotes guest relations.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.
- Responsible for following the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI.
- Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of experience that provided a basic knowledge of the Bingo game, calling protocol, console maintenance/programming and guest relations. Must have a clear resonant voice. Must possess basic mathematical skills.
Computer Skills
Basic PC skills required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; secondary smoke and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
