Job Title: Billing Strategy Lead

Job Summary:
The Billing Strategy Lead at Natera will oversee and drive billing efficiency by leading analytics-based initiatives to improve claim processing timelines and reduce financial loss due to untimely filings. This role is central to identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the billing process, performing root cause analysis, and developing actionable strategies for claim optimization. Working closely with the Medical Billing and Coding department, IT, and Operations, the Billing Strategy Lead will analyze data, create visual reports, and communicate recommendations to leadership to enhance visibility and prevent costly delays. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytically driven, and experienced in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a proven track record of providing data insights and process improvement recommendations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee billing projects and processes to ensure timely claim submissions, performing continuous monitoring and analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis on where claims are stalled prior to submission and develop strategies for faster, more efficient claim flow.
- Leverage data analysis tools like Power BI, Excel, and Snowflake to identify trends, visualize data, and track performance metrics.
- Design and implement data visualizations and reports (e.g., PowerPoint) that convey insights and recommendations for executive leadership.
- Analyze and interpret revenue cycle data, identifying opportunities to reduce financial losses from delays in claim filing.
- Partner with IT and operations teams to optimize system workflows, prioritize case handling, and improve visibility around case movement.
- Work collaboratively with Medical Billing, Coding, and other departments to ensure alignment on billing strategies and processes.
- Proactively initiate analysis on new and existing data, communicating findings and actionable insights that enhance billing and revenue operations.
- Conduct ongoing audits and track outcomes of implemented improvements to ensure sustained billing process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, health sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in business administration, healthcare billing, insurance, or related fields, with specific experience in revenue cycle management.
- 3-4 years of experience in data analysis, report development, and providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Proficiency with Power BI, Excel, and Snowflake for analytics and data visualization.
- Basic SQL knowledge for querying databases (not required but preferred).
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in data validation and reconciliation.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Expertise in identifying data trends, visualizing key metrics, and providing strategic recommendations to prevent revenue loss.
- Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and recommending operational improvements, with a follow-up to ensure effectiveness.
- Adaptable communication style, able to convey data insights persuasively to leadership and across departments.
- Collaborative approach to work with IT, Medical Billing, and other teams, understanding workflow priorities and system impacts.
- Strong initiative in exploring datasets to uncover insights and drive actionable changes that align with organizational goals.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
