The Billing Specialist operates data entry devices to perform a variety of data entry and verification duties, as well as some production tracking and reporting duties. Detects and corrects errors. Uses word processing, spreadsheet, database, web portals or other software on a computer. Can also use basic office equipment and can follow instructions. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable learning and using company-approved AI and automation tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and workflow organization
Qualifications- Minimum Education: High School Diploma/ G.E.D.
- Minimum 3+ Years of experience in data entry.
- Maintain strong skills in diplomacy, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
- Strong communication skills in both oral and written.
- Knowledge of EPower and Centricity is desired.
- Familiarity with computers and Windows PC applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to learn new computer system applications.
- Medical billing and/or insurance background, including Medicare, Medicaid, other government payors, third-party payors, and commercial insurance.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-powered productivity, automation, or data-quality tools preferred.
- Type 45-60 WPM.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Billing Specialist should expect to work frequently with a computer.
- Entering data into a health information system is a core function of the job.
- Performs data entry report edits as required with speed and accuracy.
- Tracks production and trends and reports issues to leadership
- Assists with database management functions
- Maintain daily production goals as they pertain to charge entry
- Utilize company-approved AI and automation tools to assist with document processing, data quality, error detection, and workflow efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The employee will be exposed to working conditions commensurate with a traditional office environment.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move using proper body mechanics and agree to ask for assistance if required.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Must submit to random drug screenings.
