Position SummaryThe Billing Specialist supports U.S. healthcare revenue cycle operations by preparing and submitting clean claims, following payer guidelines, and resolving claim issues such as discrepancies, denials, and appeals. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized professional who is ready to learn, communicate clearly with payers and internal teams, and work in a compliance-focused environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFollow the mission, goals, policies, procedures, and operational manuals of the Company and Billing Department.
Execute Company Management, Supervisor, and Manager instructions accurately and on time; take responsibility for work outcomes.
Prepare, review, and submit claims using billing software (PMBOS) in accordance with signed client agreements and internal timelines.
Create clean claims and proactively reduce NCC (Not Clean Claims) through careful review, correction, and documentation.
Know and follow insurance guidelines and payer requirements; stay current with updates and changes.
Use knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 concepts to support accurate claim preparation and issue resolution.
Verify eligibility and benefits for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures when needed.
Follow up on unpaid claims according to the Billing Manual; support timely collections.
Resolve discrepancies, denials, and appeals in accordance with payer rules and internal standards.
Communicate professionally with insurance payers, clients, and patients when needed to obtain information and resolve billing issues.
Answer phone calls in a pleasant, helpful, and professional manner.
Maintain accurate documentation and submit required reports for assigned accounts.
Maintain consistent communication with Account Representatives for assigned accounts; collaborate to resolve shared issues.
Participate in meetings organized by the Supervisor, Manager, and/or Company Management.
Support process optimization and continuous improvement by identifying gaps and suggesting practical improvements.
Maintain and improve performance/grade level through ongoing learning and feedback; support coworkers when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Billing Department Manager.
Perform all duties in accordance with HIPAA requirements, the WCH Compliance Program, ethical rules, and Company standards.
Maintain and protect PHI (Protected Health Information) and all confidential Company information.
Report any detected non-compliance immediately to the Supervisor/Manager and/or Compliance Officer, per the WCH Compliance Program.
Perform only ethical and legally permitted work for any Company client.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to evaluate data and identify errors or inconsistencies.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; able to make urgent and correct decisions when needed.
Excellent time, task, and resource management skills; ability to track multiple tasks and deadlines.
Clear verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
Fluency in English and Russian (verbal and written).
No criminal background.
Stable company with 25+ years of success in healthcare management.
