Job Summary
Redis is the world’s fastest in-memory database, providing cloud and on-prem solutions for caching. We are seeking an entry-level Billing Specialist to join our India Finance team and support accurate and timely billing processes.
In this role, you will contribute to end-to-end billing activities, assist with customer invoicing, help manage uploads to third-party portals, and respond to basic billing inquiries. This position is ideal for someone with foundational billing knowledge who is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing scheduled billing cycles while ensuring accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
- Support the preparation and processing of customer invoices and e-billing submissions.
- Help manage third-party portal uploads and ensure successful invoice delivery.
- Address routine billing-related questions from internal teams (sales, finance, customer support) and external stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate billing discrepancies to senior team members, ensuring issues are documented and resolved.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain smooth billing operations and support improvements to billing processes.
- Work with the collections team by providing billing details needed for tracking overdue payments.
- Assist in updating billing procedures and documentation to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain accurate billing records and support audits and month-end close tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in billing or accounts receivable, preferably in a SaaS or subscription-based business.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of billing processes, third-party portals, and e-billing systems.
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to subscription or consumption-based billing models and basic understanding of revenue recognition concepts.
- Working knowledge of Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic data analysis.
