The Billing Specialist is responsible for entering and completing payer specific billing for assigned centers and follow-up. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Complete payer assigned billing for assigned centers per billing schedule. Provide back-up billing (primary as well as coinsurance) for centers assigned to other Billing Specialists. Maintain assigned accounts receivable at or under the company goal. Post cash as assigned to the payer. Attend training sessions as necessary. Promote and demonstrate a Service Excellence culture. Perform other duties as assigned.
This position will be eligible to work a hybrid work assignment/schedule after successfully completing all training and competency requirements for this position.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum two years’ billing experience, preferably in health care and/or skilled nursing. Accounting/Collection experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, and Outlook. Demonstrated analytical skills for the reconciliation of patient accounts. High level of initiative, confidentiality, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with payer specific state and local officials as well as center personnel, insurance company representatives, residents, and responsible parties. Must be flexible, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to make effective decisions and work as part of a service excellence team
Skills Required
