Who We're Looking For

The Billing Specialist II supports customer invoicing activities by reading, interpreting and applying pricing terms from newly executed customer contracts into the billing system. This role also responds to invoice change requests received via internal and external-generated tickets. Also responsible for recurring monthly maintenance tasks related to the billing system as assigned along with ad-hoc project work as business demands surface.

Some of What You'll Do

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

90 %    •    Timely and accurate processing of new customer contracts and contract changes assigned to Specialist’s work queue.
•    Quality results on ad-hoc projects that arise due to business needs (e.g., error-free results with no resulting credits or corrective action required).
•    Consistently manage monthly recurring tasks examples include:  research “no-load” report generated from customers expanding their use of Syniverse services into new countries, monitoring customers with annual volume or charge caps to ensure they aren’t overbilled, and updating calculation of group volume of business discount to ensure all members receive the correct percentage.

    •    Cross-functional support provided to Revenue Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Sales as needed.
•    Provide additional support as needed across the Billing Team to ensure monthly invoice deadlines are consistently met.
•    Contribute towards documentation repository of standard system processes and product guidelines.

Job Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree 
•    1-2 years of experience in Finance, Billing or Accounting 
•    Critical thinking skills – ability to read a customer contract, interpret and apply logic to create accurate customer invoice
•    Self-motivated – comfortable interacting with variety of departments for research and clarification purposes, able to establish good rapport and generate mutual respect
•    Strong organization and follow-up skills necessary
•    Basic knowledge of Accounting principles and practices (primarily Revenue Accounting)
•    Microsoft Office experience required, strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
•    Basic understanding of Telecommunications industry and Interconnectivity
•    Experience with Billing application software desired 
•    Familiarity with SalesForce, Appian and SAP preferred
