I.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews charge records and related patient information from multiple systems on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness;
  • Maintains patient insurance and special pricing requests in the billing software;
  • Makes authorized revisions/corrections to charge data as necessary;
  • Notifies immediate supervisor and/or  the clinical departments if unable to correct or resolve data errors that prevent accurate billing;
  • Responsible for data entry, charge review and posting of billed charges for assigned sites according to department policy; and assisting with nursing department data entry when requested to maintain timely client billing;
  • Prepares accounting period reports for review by management; and performs billing close functions as assigned.

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This job does not require any certificates, licenses, or registrations.


  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to type at least 90 wpm and have personal computer experience.
