Hourly base pay rate is $16.59 - $24.86/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Billing Specialist I is an entry‑level role supporting the billing team by calling vendors to request invoices and helping ensure billing records are complete and accurate. This position is phone‑heavy and ideal for someone who is comfortable talking with vendors, following up regularly, and performing basic data entry.
No prior billing experience is required — we are looking for someone reliable, organized, and eager to learn.
Key ResponsibilitiesMake frequent outbound phone calls to vendors to request missing or outstanding invoices
Follow up with vendors until invoices are received and questions are answered
Accurately record call notes and invoice details in internal systems
Assist with basic invoice review and data entry
Stay organized while tracking multiple follow‑ups at once
Work closely with the billing team and supervisor for guidance and support
Complete repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency
Calling vendors and leaving voicemails
Tracking who has and hasn’t sent invoices
Entering invoice information into the system
Following up on previous calls or emails
Asking questions and learning billing processes with supervisor support
High school diploma or equivalent
Comfortable being on the phone for much of the day
Clear, professional communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suites)
Ability to stay organized and follow instructions
Any customer service, call‑center, administrative, or office experience
Data entry or clerical experience
Experience working with vendors or customers
