Position Summary:
The Billing Representative is involved in the billing of private insurance
companies, Medicare and Medicaid.
What the Billing Representative will need:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of data entry experience required.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Ability to work under stress to accomplish deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS - Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear.
- Involves frequent lifting/carrying pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
What the Billing Representative will do:
- Inputs and updates all patient data.
- Prepares, sends and tracks CMN's and prescriptions to physicians.
- Obtains insurance authorization and recertification as needed.
- Maintains accurate and complete records concerning billing activity and inventory tracking.
- Is familiar with the rules and regulations regarding the type of coverage being billed.
- Examines insurance explanation of benefits to assure responsibility and identify rejected insurance billings. Rework and rebill rejected accounts in a timely manner.
- Advises other staff members on collections, adjustments and general office procedures to insure claims are "clean."
