Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Billing Director to lead and oversee our medical billing and revenue cycle operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring billing accuracy, optimizing revenue cycle performance, reducing denials, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with strong experience in medical billing, payer requirements, revenue cycle management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day billing and revenue cycle operations

  • Monitor billing performance, accuracy, collections, denials, and overall revenue cycle KPIs

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce denials and improve revenue

  • Ensure claims are submitted accurately and in accordance with CMS and commercial payer guidelines

  • Oversee billing audits, claim reviews, and quality control processes

  • Identify billing trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement

  • Collaborate with coding, credentialing, billing, and clinical operations teams

  • Develop and implement policies and workflows to improve billing efficiency

  • Lead, mentor, and support billing team members

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements

  • Prepare and present billing and revenue cycle reports to senior leadership

  • Support payer audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the revenue cycle department

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare finance

  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Medical billing and claims processing

    • Denial management

    • Insurance payer guidelines

    • Revenue cycle management

    • Healthcare compliance

    • Billing and EHR/EMR systems

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to identify issues, improve processes, and drive measurable results

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in neurology, behavioral health, or specialty care billing is highly preferred.

Certifications such as:

  • CPB – Certified Professional Biller

  • CPC – Certified Professional Coder

  • CRCR – Certified Revenue Cycle Representative
