The Role

We are looking for a talented Bilingual Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Houston. In this role, you will serve as the key front-line resource for HR policy implementation, operational support, and employee/labor relations. You will work closely with local management, shared services HR teams, and functional leaders across operations to ensure organizational objectives align with established HR protocols and labor laws. The role reports to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR & Change Management: Demonstrate a strategic HR mindset with project management accountability for operationalizing regional/organizational change and project initiatives.
  • Employee & Labor Relations: Conduct thorough and objective investigations to resolve issues, and serve as a critical voice in grievance meetings, arbitrations, and collective agreement negotiations.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Partner with shared services HR teams to evaluate data-driven programs, providing fiscal insights on staffing, turnover, absenteeism, compensation, and productivity.
  • Operational Stakeholder Management: Guide functional leaders on policy interpretation, performance management, coaching, and counseling across unionized and non-unionized operations.
  • M&A & National Projects: Provide active HR partnership throughout M&A activities and lead designated national HR initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated success working in large, complex, multi-stakeholder, and unionized environments.
  • Education: Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, sound judgment in navigating complex labor/employment standards matters, and experience writing corporate policies, business cases, and labor briefings.
  • Requirements: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required. Willingness and ability to travel to various operational sites (up to 30%).
  • Bonus Points: CPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent HR designation.
