- 50 % du temps : Le titulaire analyse et souscrit des dossiers de crédit commercial, en plus d’assumer diverses tâches administratives liées au crédit, principalement pour des prêts hypothécaires commerciaux conventionnels. Il doit veiller au respect rigoureux des politiques et critères de prêt de la Banque, et soumettre ses recommandations pour approbation à la direction. Il est également responsable de s’assurer que toutes les conditions de financement sont respectées et que la documentation requise est complétée dans les délais.
- 30 % du temps : Le titulaire assure une coordination étroite avec les intervenants internes (équipes de financement, gestionnaires, administrateurs, équipes de ventes commerciales) ainsi qu’externes (partenaires prêteurs, courtiers hypothécaires, clients, notaires, évaluateurs et consultants) afin de garantir un traitement efficace et rapide des dossiers, dans le respect des échéanciers de financement et des standards de service. Des visites de propriétés ou inspections sommaires peuvent être requises selon les dossiers.
- 15 % du temps : Le titulaire gère activement son pipeline de dossiers, en assurant un suivi rigoureux et une gestion efficace des priorités afin de respecter les délais établis.
- 5 % du temps : Le titulaire est responsable de certaines tâches administratives et de production de rapports mensuels pour le département et l’organisation, lesquels sont utilisés par la haute direction pour le suivi des activités.
50% on a daily basis, the incumbent will analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities together with additional credit related and administrative duties, for conventional commercial mortgage product types. Attention must be made to ensure that compliance with the company’s established lending guidelines and procedures are followed with recommendations submitted for approval to management. The incumbent is responsible to ensure all lending criteria have been satisfied on deals underwritten and outstanding documentation/conditions, if any, are being met in a timely manner.
30% on a daily basis, the incumbent will communicate with internal contacts (funders, managers, administrators, and commercial sales staff) as well as external contacts (lending partners, mortgage brokers, Clients, solicitors, appraisers and consultants) to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner in order to deliver superior customer service and funding deadlines. Site inspections of properties or drive-by inspections may be required, on a deal-to-deal basis.
15% on a daily basis, the incumbent is responsible for pipeline review and time management of their deal flow in order to meet prescribed deadlines.
5% on a monthly basis, the incumbent will be responsible for various administration and reporting duties required for the department/Company, which will be relied upon by Senior Management.
Exigences et compétences
- Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) est requis
- Solides compétences en souscription, avec un minimum de 2 ans d’expérience en prêts hypothécaires commerciaux et/ou en souscription résidentielle
- Expérience démontrée en prestation d’un excellent service dans son domaine
- Formation postsecondaire (diplôme ou baccalauréat), idéalement en administration des affaires ou en finance
- Bonne maîtrise des outils Microsoft Office, principalement Word et Excel
- Excellentes capacités d’analyse et de résolution de problèmes
- Bon sens des affaires combiné à une connaissance technique des prêts garantis et des facteurs influençant le marché hypothécaire commercial
- Excellentes aptitudes en organisation et en gestion du temps
- Capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités simultanément tout en maintenant un haut niveau de service à la clientèle
- Excellentes compétences en communication, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit
- Disponible et motivé(e) à participer à des événements liés aux courtiers, au besoin (parfois en dehors des heures de travail)
- Accès à un véhicule pour effectuer des visites ou inspections de propriétés
Bilingualism is required
Proficient underwriting skills with a minimum 2 years commercial mortgage experience and/or SFR underwriting experience
Demonstrated service excellence within their field
Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) preferred , preferably in business or finance
Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily word and excel)
Effective analytical and problem solving skills
Strong business sense combined with sound technical knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities while providing optimal customer service
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability and desire to attend broker related events as required (often, after hours)
Access to a vehicle for site inspections

Job Complexities
The position requires the incumbent to be a self-starter and make sound underwriting decisions as efficiently as possible. Commercial mortgage applications can be complex in nature, requiring creative and innovative thinking and proactive problem solving. The incumbent is required to follow corporate policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in order to work through files and rationalize the recommendations or decisions made. In some cases, viability is assessed with limited access to information or documentation.
Accountability
The incumbent will operate under direct management from the Manager, Commercial Credit; however, you will also work closely with all members of the Commercial Mortgage Team. The accountability of the incumbent falls mainly within the parameters of their daily duties, managing their own deal flow as assigned by management (from assignment stage to post funding). The overall success of the department relies on the level of efficiency and service provided by the incumbent.

The incumbent will communicate daily with management, staff within the department and company, as well as external contacts (clients, mortgage brokers, Lending Partners, etc.).
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Normal office environment with no physical demands; however there is substantial pressure, at times, placed on the incumbent due to the time sensitivity of each transaction and the level of volume faced daily. Hybrid work is expected with 1-5 days in person depending on the level and seniority of the role.
