The Bike Training Associate is responsible for delivering structured driver training programs and ensuring that all drivers are fully prepared before dispatch. The role focuses on training delivery, driver assessment, record management, and coordination with internal departments to ensure drivers clearly understand operational procedures, safety requirements, and platform expectations.
Conduct practical bike training and riding assessments for all drivers before they are cleared for operations.
Train drivers on bike control, balance, starting, stopping, maneuvering, braking, cornering, speed control, and proper use of indicators and mirrors.
Assess drivers on defensive riding, road positioning, hazard awareness, traffic rules, and overall road safety.
Identify drivers with weak riding skills and provide additional practical coaching, one-on-one support, and retraining.
Reassess drivers after additional practice and recommend them for clearance, further training, or non-clearance based on their performance.
Monitor drivers during practical sessions and immediately correct unsafe riding practices, poor bike handling, over speeding, improper braking, and other risky behaviors.
Ensure drivers demonstrate the required level of safe, confident, and competent bike handling before dispatch or bike handover.
Conduct pre-ride and post-ride bike inspections and train drivers on basic bike care, safety checks, and maintenance practices.
Demonstrate and maintain working knowledge of motorcycle/e-bike systems, battery management, charging procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
Identify and report mechanical, electrical, or safety issues affecting training bikes and coordinate with the Maintenance/Technical team for repairs or corrective action.
Conduct classroom and practical training on road safety, operational SOPs, Uber platform requirements, company policies, and driver expectations.
Administer written and practical assessments and ensure drivers achieve a minimum pass mark of 80% before progressing or being cleared for operations.
Maintain accurate bike practice sheets, assessment records, attendance records, driver performance trackers, and training completion records.
Support bike handover and refresher training by ensuring drivers understand bike operation, safety requirements, maintenance, battery care, and procedures for reporting faults or incidents.
Prepare regular training reports and work closely with Training, Operations, Maintenance, Customer Experience, and other relevant departments to address driver performance, safety, bike maintenance, and training gaps.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Training, Education, Business Administration, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
Previous experience in driver training, motorcycle/e-bike operations, practical riding assessment, transport operations, or fleet management is required.
Strong practical riding skills with the ability to train and assess other riders.
Demonstrable knowledge of motorcycle/e-bike maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and daily inspection procedures.
Knowledge of road safety, defensive riding, and traffic regulations.
Experience conducting practical assessments and providing corrective coaching.
Good computer skills, including Excel, Google Workspace, CRM tools, and digital reporting systems.
Ability to identify mechanical or safety-related issues and escalate them appropriately.
A valid motorcycle riding license and relevant riding experience.
The Training Associate will be expected to ensure that:
Drivers achieve a minimum 80% assessment score before progression.
Drivers meet the required practical riding competency before dispatch.
All drivers receive proper bike safety and maintenance orientation.
Training and bike practice records are accurate and up to date.
Mechanical and safety concerns identified during training are promptly reported and escalated.
Drivers requiring additional support are identified and retrained.
Training sessions are conducted in a structured, professional, and engaging manner.
Drivers leave training with a clear understanding of safety, operational, platform, and bike maintenance requirements.

Skills Required
