Job Purpose:-
The E-Auction Portal Management & Bidding Associate is responsible for sourcing non-ferrous metal scrap and material feedstock through India's key institutional e-auction and procurement platforms — MSTC, MetalJunction and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). The role requires strong working knowledge of non-ferrous metal grades, Local pricing dynamics and portal-specific bidding mechanics, and is accountable for winning competitively priced lots that meet the company's feedstock volume and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:-
• Continuously track and shortlist relevant non-ferrous scrap/metal tenders and e-auctions on MSTC, MetalJunction and GeM.
• Evaluate lot specifications (metal grade, purity, form, quantity, location) against Attero's feedstock requirements.
• Prepare and validate bid pricing in coordination with the commodity/pricing desk, referencing LME and domestic benchmark rates.
• Submit competitive, compliant bids within portal timelines; manage EMD, registration, KYC and other portal documentation.
• Coordinate with logistics and quality teams post-award for lifting, transportation and inspection of won lots.
• Maintain accurate bid trackers and MIS reporting on tenders tracked, bids placed, win rates and volumes secured.
• Monitor competitor bidding behaviour and market price trends to refine bidding strategy.
• Escalate discrepancies, disputes or portal-related issues to the reporting manager and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Stay current on portal policy changes, e-auction rules and government procurement norms (scrap trade regulations where applicable).
Required Skills & Competencies:-
Functional / Technical
• Working knowledge of non-ferrous metals — copper, aluminium, brass, lead, zinc, nickel — including grades, purity classifications and typical scrap forms.
• Familiarity with LME pricing mechanisms and how they translate to domestic bid pricing.
• Hands-on experience bidding on MSTC and/or MetalJunction and/or GeM portals (prior exposure to at least one strongly preferred).
• Comfortable with EMD management, portal documentation and e-auction compliance requirements.
Behavioural
• High attention to detail — pricing and documentation errors carry direct financial risk.
• Ability to work under tight bid-submission deadlines.
• Strong coordination skills across procurement, logistics, quality and finance functions.
• Analytical mindset for market/price-trend interpretation.
Qualification & Experience Education
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Metallurgy, Commerce, Business Administration or related field Experience
• 2–6 years in metal/scrap trading, commodity procurement or e-auction bidding (non-ferrous exposure preferred) — band to confirm per seniority of hire Portal Exposure
• Demonstrated prior bidding experience on MSTC / MetalJunction / GeM strongly preferred
Skills Required
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Metallurgy, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-6 years of experience in metal or scrap trading, commodity procurement, or e-auction bidding
- Experience with non-ferrous metals, including grades, purity classifications, and scrap forms
