JOB PURPOSE
The Bid Analyst is responsible for analyzing and reviewing all less-than-truckload data for prospective clients, and implementing the less-than-truckload solution once the client has signed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze bills and data from freight studies.
- Lead bid preparation and data collection.
- Create benchmark and review with client.
- Prepare carrier recommendation and present to the client.
- Negotiate carrier pricing contracts with decision-making ability.
- Maintain bid management tools and databases to track bid opportunities, status, and
- outcomes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- Logistics and Transportation experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common English business communication including invoices, letters, and bills of lading.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from the customer.
- Ability to effectively present information to clients and management.
- Ability to apply strong mathematics to meet goals.
- Strong skill set involving Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle complex analytical tasks involving multiple variables.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Ability to understand and act upon verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to comprehend and explain pricing models mathematically.
- Ability to listen to a situation and provide potential solutions within Pricing/Carrier Relations framework
- Ability to collect and review data in order to create reports and summaries
- Strong reasoning skills and ability to offer both written and verbal advice.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong mathematical skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds.
SCHEDULING
This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.
TRAVEL
Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special training/conferences.
