A BI Reporting Analyst, based onsite in Fremont - California, is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions that provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Their role involves working with business users to understand requirements, querying data from multiple sources, creating dashboards, and ensuring the accuracy and clarity of reports. They bridge the gap between raw data and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret business data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
  • Automate recurring reports for efficiency.

Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting needs and business requirements.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven solutions.

Data Management

  • Extract, clean, and validate data from various sources (databases, ERP, CRM, cloud applications).
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency in reporting.

Visualization & Storytelling

  • Present data in a clear, concise, and visually compelling way.
  • Create dashboards and reports that enable non-technical stakeholders to make decisions.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with data engineers, IT, and business teams to improve data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and dashboards.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and optimize reporting systems for performance and scalability.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and report definitions for future reference.

Required Skills

  • Technical Tools: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, SQL, Excel (advanced), Python/R (optional for advanced analytics).
  • Database Knowledge: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar.
  • Data Modeling: Understanding of star schema, data warehouses, and ETL concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, stakeholder management, and ability to translate technical concepts into business language.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in BI reporting or data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Experience working with HR data
  • Preferred industry experience: Manufacturing

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 - Applicable to California.
