The Role
Your Role 

The Import/Export Coordinator will provide essential support to the international logistics team under the International Operations & Trade Compliance Manager, managing a wide range of tasks related to global imports, exports, and cross-border trade across North America. This role requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to handle multifaceted responsibilities in a fast-paced global environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and skilled in coordinating with diverse stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient international trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

Import/Export Operations Support

· Coordinate global import and export activities, including documentation preparation, customs clearance, and compliance with international trade regulations such as tariffs, duties, and trade agreements.

· Manage cross-border trade logistics across North America, facilitating seamless movement of goods between the US, Canada, and Mexico under frameworks like USMCA.

· Monitor shipment statuses, resolve customs issues, and collaborate with freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers to optimize transit times and costs.

· Ensure adherence to global standards, including export controls, sanctions, and environmental regulations.

Project Management

· Support international logistics projects, such as supply chain audits, route optimizations, and implementation of trade compliance software, under the Manager's direction.

· Track project timelines, deliverables, and risks, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory requirements.

· Facilitate interdepartmental coordination, preparing materials and documenting progress for trade-related initiatives.

· Analyze trade data to identify trends, compliance risks, and opportunities for process enhancements in global and regional contexts.

Administrative and Strategic Assistance

· Maintain accurate records of trade documents, financial tracking for duties and fees, and performance metrics for reporting.

· Serve as a primary contact for internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies, addressing inquiries and escalating issues as needed.

· Coordinate trade-related activities, including stakeholder interactions and resource management, to support strategic logistics objectives.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

· 2+ years of experience in import/export coordination, customs brokerage, or international logistics roles.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and trade management software.

· Solid understanding of global trade regulations, including HTS classifications, INCOTERMS, and North American cross-border requirements.

· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a dynamic, international setting.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with cultural sensitivity for global interactions.

· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

· Ability to manage confidential trade information discreetly and maintain high professional standards.

Preferred Skills

· Knowledge of international logistics best practices, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and supply chain visibility tools.

· Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project) for handling compliance and optimization projects.

· Familiarity with data analysis for trade compliance and cost management.

· Additional language skills (e.g., French) for broader North American communications.

Working Conditions

· Primarily office-based with occasional travel for trade shows, supplier visits, or customs audits.

· Flexibility to work extended hours for time-sensitive shipments or global coordination needs.
