Business Intelligence Engineer

As a BI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing Resmed's BI and analytics platforms. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to empower users across Resmed to drive data-informed decisions and develop world-class analytics that propel our business forward. Your responsibilities will include gaining hands-on experience in understanding business requirements, ensuring seamless accessibility of data and reports, researching and implementing automation within BI and analytics platforms, maintaining and optimizing the BI platform, and creating impactful visualizations for our customers.
Let’s talk about Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, customer-focused support to Resmed Analytics users globally

• Administer Resmed BI and analytical systems, handling tasks such as code deployment, user access provisioning, and security access management.

• Optimize and support the Resmed BI systems, ensuring reliability, security and performance through maintenance, outage management, health checks, and server monitoring.

• Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedures for analytics support activities.

• Collaborate on ad-hoc projects related to Business Intelligence or Data & Analytics, working with software providers, the Global Data Platform team, and Resmed business/IT teams.

• Support and enhance the Resmed BI governance framework to ensure best practices and compliance.

• Research and implement BI platforms automation and advanced functionalities to streamline analytics processes.

• Build and deliver BI solutions by selecting appropriate data and visualization tools to meet business requirements.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience
Required:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience. 

• Minimum 3-4 years of related work experience

• Proven expertise in BI technologies, with a primary focus on supporting Power BI platform and secondary experience in Tableau, Cognos and other BI tooling

• Experience with Power BI, including report creation, data modeling, and DAX functions.

• Experience in administering Power BI Service (Cloud), including tenant management, workspace administration, and user access control.

• Strong understanding of Power BI architecture, including gateways and deployment pipelines.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python or similar programming languages.

• Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL.

• Demonstrated experience in working in large scale global Reporting Teams.

• Involvement in at least one major BI implementation as a BI System Administrator / BI Analyst / BI Developer / BI engineer capacity

• Basic knowledge of source control, pull requests and automated quality gates using tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket etc

• Strong business analytical skills with the ability to analyze situations or data by applying standard practices, procedures, and methodologies.

•  Ability to manage and work across multiple simultaneous timelines efficiently.

•  Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience monitoring BI infrastructure with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog etc

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, experience with on-call rotation and incident management.
