The Business Intelligence Analyst is a mid-level position with responsibility for obtaining, developing and analyzing data, prove/disprove hypotheses, and develop insights. The individual in this role will be expected to consult with costumers to develop business requirements and provide possible solutions and approaches to their analytic needs. While expected to exhibit a significant amount of independence in interacting with business partners and in preparing analyses, the role works under the general direction of their leader and trains, mentors, and provides work direction to associate analysts. Develops an understanding of Thrivent’s products, systems, and processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with technical resources, business resources, and business owners to: 1) define specific hypothesis/questions to evaluate and analyze, or 2) gather, develop, validate and analyze data and data requirements in support of business operations.
  • Conducts moderately complex SQL queries and works with other data extraction, reporting and analytic tools to validate and/or develop analysis and reporting to provide insight.
  • Develops plans to evaluate hypothesis/questions and measure performance.
  • Produce and maintain models and data using a variety of corporate software tools.
  • Partners with business, IT and customers to ensure that the design, execution, presentation, and distribution of actionable insights or data streams can be readily implemented and meets management requirements.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, quantitiative business analysis, applied mathematics, statistics, management information systems, actuarial science, or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services and/or research and analytics or 2+ years of experience in the actuarial field.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing cloud and Marketing Cloud Intelligence (Datorama) 
  • Experience with using data tools (e.g., Databricks, R, SQL, etc.) and digital analytical platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics). Capable of independently managing recurring queries, pulling data, and running complex & timely analysis 
  • Experience in Campaign analytics, experimental design, and impact assessment.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, planning and problem solving skills
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency on multiple projects at the same time
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, within a stated objective

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $72,505.00 - $98,097.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
