How You’ll Add Value…

The Better Storage Management, Sample Management Expert is responsible for driving sample management initiatives to expand the business. They are subject matter experts and understand, articulate and implement best practices related to sample management in the development of customer focused solutions. This position requires a person with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to diverse customer situations. They work closely with business leadership, marketing, sales, operations and customers to develop and implement solutions for improved sample management practices and build the framework for sustainable business growth. They are able to develop a strategy for and paint a vision of how this strategy would be implemented. 

What You’ll Do…

  • Perform customer assessments,
    • Interview staff with different personas within a customer to determine their organization goals and the value drivers for various stakeholders
    • Evaluate sample tracking mechanisms, storage utilization, sample usage, equipment maintenance and resources used for storage management
    • Compare their sample management and storage practices to industry best practices
    • Provide recommendations for how they can improve that is in line with their stated business goals and present these using various tools (e.g. PPT, formal written reports)..
  • Identify gaps within Azenta’s current offerings and develop new product ideas, processes/procedures to fill the gaps in conjunction with business product managers and leadership.
  • Work with business leadership and marketing to define new products & services/market segments.
  • Drive a strong quality culture by ensuring policies, procedures and work instructions prioritize safety, and ensure that appropriate monitoring and reporting processes are in place and effective for continuous improvement.
  • Work with projects/project teams for resource planning and delivery of solutions in line with Azenta policies and practices.

What you will Bring…

  • BS/BA degree in science or engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sample management (tools and/or service).
  • Recognized expertise in represented subject matter
  • Demonstrated experience in driving and implementing customer solutions
  • Experience in customer service-oriented positions
  • Training in process improvement methodology preferred.
  • Master’s or PhD degree preferred
  • Professional communication skills as appropriate for senior-level clients, colleagues, and presentation in public forums.
  • Strong process improvement skills.
  • Strong business acumen, budgeting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work across organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions/ Schedule

  • Willing and able to travel overnight within the United States and Internationally as required for customer meetings, internal business meetings, seminars, and conferences. Up to 50% of time required for travel.
  • Prefer close proximity to one of our repositories: Indianapolis, Cleveland, Billerica, Fresno
