Job Summary & Responsibilities The Benefits Specialist will handle day to day tasks and processes for the Benefits and Leaves Department. This role will act as the first line of contact for team member questions and concerns related to benefits or leave of absence. The Benefits Specialist will act as the primary individual on the Benefits and Leaves team to handle tactical items as appropriate. Team member will work cross functionally and may be asked to provide support as a back-up to other team members.
This position offers a hybrid work model; On-site work location is the Ruan Campus located downtown Des Moines
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00A - 5:00P
Responsibilities:
Carrying out the Company's organizational values and operating in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies are required functions. Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide primary coverage on the HR Hotline answering team member questions and responding to requests regarding benefits and leave of absence.
- Monitor department inboxes and provide follow-up to questions and requests.
- Drafts and creates correspondence (letters, emails, fax) for benefits and leaves related inquiries and issues.
- Enter status updates, send documentation as needed, process documentation for Benefits and Leaves and enter in the system of record.
- Coordinate and communicate 401k, health, life and disability insurance enrollments with service providers concerning routine administration of programs.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
