As our Benefits Specialist, you'll play an important role in taking care of the people who make Capital what it is. You'll be a valued resource for our employees and leaders — someone they can turn to for guidance, support, and answers when it comes to their benefits and time away from work.  At Capital, we believe our benefits are more than plans and paperwork. They're part of how we show our people that they're valued and supported. We're looking for someone who brings that same mindset to the role — someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, takes pride in getting the details right, and understands that a great employee experience starts with having someone in your corner.  You'll be part of a collaborative HR team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our organization, helping create a benefits experience that is thoughtful, responsive, and easy for our people to navigate.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA notifications, and employee records.

  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions.

  • Lead annual open enrollment, including system setup, communications, training, and employee support.

  • Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leave, and short- and long-term disability programs.

  • Support 401(k) administration, including enrollment, contribution changes, loans, distributions, audits, and compliance.

  • Partner with vendors and our TPA to resolve employee questions, claims, and eligibility issues.

  • Maintain compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations.

  • Assist with required reporting, filings, audits, and nondiscrimination testing.

  • Maintain accurate benefits information within our HRIS and ensure data integrity across systems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the employee benefits experience and make processes more efficient.

What We’re Looking For:

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves benefits — someone who enjoys the details, understands the importance of compliance, and gets real satisfaction from helping employees navigate something that can sometimes feel complicated.

  • 3–5 years of progressive benefits administration experience; a broader HR background with strong benefits expertise is welcome.

  • Experience administering medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and retirement plans.

  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and ACA requirements.

  • Experience with 401(k) administration and supporting annual audits.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex benefits information in a simple, approachable way.

  • HRIS experience; ADP/Lyric experience is preferred.

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Additionally:

  • Experience with self-insured or self-funded health plans.

  • Experience supporting a multi-location organization.

  • Automotive retail experience.

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • CEBS, CBP, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification.

What We Offer:

At Capital, we believe taking care of our people starts with taking care of the people who take care of them.  You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a real impact on the employee experience across our organization.

  • Work alongside a collaborative HR team that values partnership and innovation.

  • Be part of a growing organization where your ideas and expertise matter.

  • Build and improve processes that directly support our employees and leaders.

  • Grow your career with a company that believes in investing in its people.
