Overview
As Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end benefits administration, communication, benchmarking, and reporting. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of benefit best practices and industry-relevant employment trends. You will track legislation and assess employee benefit interests
Your Impact
The essential functions of this position include:
- Coach, mentor, train, and manage the benefits team.
- Drive strategic planning, design, implementation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, communication, and administration of benefits and wellness programs.
- Responsible for leading the benefits team to successfully manage and administer the company's health and welfare plan(s), retirement plan(s), and other ancillary benefit plans and programs as developed throughout the organization.
- Responsible for writing, coordinating, planning, and facilitating companywide communications as it relates to annual open enrollment and other programs.
- Reviews and analyzes current Employee Benefits program effectiveness and market competitiveness; provides recommendations for improvement.
- Develop strong relationships with internal clients and external vendors to create greater efficiency, improve the delivery of services, and reduce costs.
- Assure compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes, including (but not limited to) ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA and ADA.
- Effectively monitor and implement the requirements and impact of the Affordable Care Act.
- Serve as an administrator to the company's 401(k). Ensuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Work closely with brokers and inside/outside counsel to ensure plans remain in compliance, including annual filings, audits, communications, amendments, and plan documents.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing the benefits and department operational budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
- Work with HR and 3rd Party Leave Management team in responding to employee and leadership questions or concerns regarding the LOA or reasonable accommodation process and certifying the return-to-work process.
- Manage benefits for ePlus’ U.S. and international (United Kingdom, India and Singapore) employee population.
- Assisting employees with complex claims or coverage issues.
- Identifies and makes recommendations for changes to processes and programs that can be automated or streamlined.
- Has thorough knowledge of UKG Benefits Prime, and the ability to maintain the integrity of employee information in UKG and generate reports.
- Ability to lead other projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in self-funded employee benefits with proven experience managing benefit programs for a large employer (at least 1,500 employees)
- 3+ years of management responsibility, including working with and presenting to senior leadership.
- Proven experience identifying opportunities and driving enhancements to programs and offerings.
- Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of successful benefits and well-being strategies.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLookups) required.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, cultures and organizations; strategically focused on continuous improvement.
- Deep understanding of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using UKG (specifically Benefits Prime).
Position Specifics
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $115,000 and $130,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.
ePlus offers a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, employee stock purchase program and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
