Job Summary
Together with the Sr. Benefits Administrator, this role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs including health and welfare plans, 401(k), out-sourced leave of absence, and workers’ compensation. This role is responsible for processing benefits and leave transactions within the ADP HRIS system, running reports, and reviewing/auditing benefits data to ensure accuracy. The position will serve as a point of contact for employee benefits and leave of absence questions, while also acting as a liaison with external benefits vendors.
Primary Job Functions:
• Assists with the administration of employee benefit programs in US, Canada, and Puerto Rico including medical, dental, vision, disability, life and supplemental health insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, charitable giving fund, COBRA, and US and Canada retirement plans.
• Processes benefits and leave of absence (LOA) transactions in the ADP HRIS system, including life event changes, 401(k) deferral and loan changes, coordinating retroactive and arrears deductions, and syncing benefits data to payroll.
• Provides customer support and serves as a point of contact to Team Members, vendors, outside agencies, and third-party administrators. Monitors issues and follows up as necessary to ensure prompt resolution of Team Member issues, requests or questions.
• Prepares recurring and ad hoc benefits reports. Conducts data analysis to identify trends, ensure data accuracy, and support compliance and decision making.
• Tracks employee LOA and workers compensation claims for the US. Serves as a point of contact and coordinator of outsourced LOA and workers’ compensation programs.
• Processes monthly, quarterly, and annual workers’ compensation payroll reporting for the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, including retrieving invoices from the workers’ compensations boards and preparing manual invoice check requests as needed.
• Monitors and processes electronic benefit eligibility and funding files, ensuring data accuracy between HRIS system and external vendors. Audits benefits data for accuracy, investigates issues, and escalates to the appropriate contact as needed.
• Reviews and processes benefits and invoices and vendor billings ensuring timely submission
• Assists with benefits communications including quarterly wellness newsletter
• Assists with annual benefits projects and initiatives including annual open enrollment and 401(k) audit, preparation of 1095-C forms and other required annual communications.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, such as the ERISA, COBRA, HIPPA, ACA, and FMLA. Keeps abreast of state leaves laws.
• Supports HR Operations team and acts as a backup when needed.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Education and Years of Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or work equivalent experience.
• Two to four years of benefits experience, including processing benefits transactions in HRIS. Prior experience with ADP a plus. Prior experience with leave of absence a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of US benefits programs, leave of absence, regulatory requirements, and HRIS platforms. Experience with Canada benefits is a plus.
• Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements that impact benefit plans including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPPA, Medicare as well as and DOL and IRS requirements.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Must be proficient with Microsoft excel.
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing priorities.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and resourceful individual who can function in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information

Pay Range$32 to $35/hr
Skills Required
