The Benefits Administrator is responsible for assisting in managing PCMs employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, retirement plans (like 401(k)), FSA, COBRA, disability, and leave plans while maintaining compliancy and competitiveness.

    

Qualifications

  • Minimum Three years of related benefits administration experience.
  • An Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred; combination of work experience and education will be considered
  • Knowledge of benefits laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word and Excel
  • Ability to gather, analyze and organize data to make educated decisions
  • Ability to identify critical issues and exercise independent judgment
  • Proficient in Workday and navigating carrier enrollment sites
  • Detail-oriented, with good judgment and prioritization skills
  • Capable of working independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Articulate and professional in all verbal and written communications
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Experience interacting across different departments, job classifications and geographies a plus.

Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability

  • Serves as resource for all Workers Compensation and leave of absence related questions from employees and management.
  • Effectively coordinates all cases/claims and ensures compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act and all related employment laws.
  • Advises Benefits Coordinator on leave of absence and Workers Compensation inquiries
  • Independently approves and/or denies leave cases based on relevant medical information. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed. Ensures that all reportable workers’ compensation claims are submitted to the company’s vendor within 48 business hours from the date of the incident.
  • Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping and paid leave during duration of leave, provide pay documentation to Workers’ Compensation vendor
  • Works closely with employees to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with employees on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for employees on leave.
  • Provides exemplary customer service to all employees and vendors
  • Administration of STD/LTD and Paid Parental Leave programs. Ensures that claims are coordinated with FMLA and/or state leave benefits for general medical leave cases.
  • Assists in the administration and enrollment updates of various benefits programs, such as flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, disability and 401(k).
  • Assists with liaising with insurance and savings providers on behalf of employees and the company.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers.
  • Assists in the administration of COBRA
  • Assists in Open Enrollment process
  • Participates in special projects
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

   

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, skills and other market-based factors.
