SUMMARY: Responsible for greeting and assisting Guests with luggage and other errands/deliveries in a courteous, safe and efficient manner while providing excellent guest service at all times.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)
- Greets and opens doors for Guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Transfers luggage and packages to and from rooms, vehicles and loading areas.
- Provides Guests with a claim check when asked to store luggage/items. Returns Guests’ luggage/items upon the receipt and verification of claim checks.
- Provides Guests with information about The Hotel and Resort as well as local amenities such as shopping, dining, nightlife and recreational destinations. Assists with local reservations as needed.
- Maintains and cleans designated lobby station (including doors and windows), baggage room and baggage carts; all while keeping Guests’ needs as the first priority.
- Delivers messages and valet (dry cleaning) to Guests’ rooms.
- Posts daily events in the lobby as needed.
- Fosters good relations with, and provides the maximum level of quality service to, outside vendors such as car rental companies, taxi services, tour and travel companies, limo services, etc.
- Ensures all communication containing Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians; TEDA, Inc.; Black Oak Casino Resort and Guest information is consistent with privacy policies and procedures.
- Promptly reports any incident of Guest dissatisfaction or an unusual matter of significance to Manager/Supervisor.
- Writes shift reports including any incident of theft, accident or injury as assigned.
- May be required to conduct Bellperson training as needed.
- Maintains a positive attitude and acts in a consistently professional manner towards Guests and Team Members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience in guest service and the hospitality industry as well as knowledge of common industry terms and practices preferred.
- Must complete Responsible Alcohol Service certification or have proof of current certification.
- Must be able to operate office equipment such as a computer, calculator and phone.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment (sometimes under pressure) while remaining professional, flexible and efficient.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver license and a Black Oak Casino driver’s permit.
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and background check.
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Required to work inside and outside with and around equipment, machines and motor vehicles; with possible exposure to vibration, dust, gas, steam or chemicals.
