Job Description

JOB TITLE: Behavioural Risk Analyst

SALARY: £47,790 – £53,100

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh & Bristol

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our hub locations.

About this opportunity

At LBG, we define behavioural risk as the habitual patterns of behaviour that may lead to future issues or poor outcomes for the group. Behavioural risk reviews aim to identify what is driving these patterns of behaviour, thereby enhancing preventative measures such as controls and policies.

Your role as a Behavioural Risk Analyst involves supporting the delivery of high-quality behavioural risk reviews based on your understanding of business strategy, behavioural drivers, and risks. This will involve conducting behavioural research and analysis to identify risks, develop improvement strategies, and support behavioural risk management efforts.

You’ll act as a proactive team member, with a growth mindset, positively contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the review. You’ll support the ongoing development and improvement of the wider function through a strategic and coordinated behavioural risk focus, and effective cross-function collaboration.

Day to day, you will:

  • Support the delivery of applied social/behavioural research to identify and mitigate risk, considering various internal and external perspectives.  This may include:

  • Developing high-quality research materials.

  • Executing operational tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Conducting research including literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, and observations, ensuring methodological rigour and attention to detail.

  • Analysing qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Reporting, presenting, and disseminating clear, concise, and actionable insights.

  • Identifying key lessons and suggestions to support continuous improvement.

  • Help senior colleagues to build meaningful stakeholder relationships.

  • Suggest improvements in current compliance processes by being bold.

  • Actively role model the Group’s values and behaviours.

  • Proactively identify, address and drive personal development opportunities and create a positive learning culture based on effective coaching.

  • Freely share insight and timely, direct, effective feedback that contributes to the success of the delivery plan and leaves a positive sustainable impact on the function.

  • Support the development and validation of behavioural management actions using evidence-based practice and knowledge of effective behavioural interventions.

  • Connect behavioural risk insights with Group and Business Unit strategy.

  • Prioritise your own tasks to effectively deliver valuable results.

  • Conduct literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, observations and surveys with methodological rigour and adherence to ethical protocols.

  • Communicate complex concepts and insights in simple and meaningful terms.

  • Analyse, interpret and convey qualitative and quantitative data clearly to drive actionable insights.

  • Execute operational tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Design relevant, evidence-based, practical solutions for behavioural interventions.

  • Prioritise tasks effectively to ensure valuable research outcomes.

And advanced knowledge of:

  • Concepts, theories and methodologies in a relevant social science e.g. behavioural science, organisational psychology.

Any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Conducting control testing and identifying areas of concern, articulating the potential challenge.

Even if you don't meet all of these requirements, we encourage you to apply and share how your unique skills and experiences can contribute to our team. We value continuous learning and development, and we are committed to supporting your growth within the role.
