Now Hiring Contract Behavior Supports Specialist - Coverage for Morehead, Ky Area

Behavior Support Specialists are responsible for conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and developing a Positive Behavior Supports Plan (POC) for participants in Kentucky’s 1915(c) Waiver programs (Michelle P, Supports for Community Living), then providing direct support to participants and training to key stakeholders on the implementation of that plan to promote positive outcomes that lead to the participant’s meaningful engagement in their home and community. A Positive Behavior Support Specialist, proactively monitors, develops, and updates behavioral services and plans.


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral science or human services field (Required)
  • 1 year of direct experience working with an ID, ASD or other similar populations is required
  • Responsible for maintaining and carrying their own professional liability insurance.
  • Meet state guidelines for independent functioning as a behavior support specialist
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license/automobile insurance and have the ability to travel to clients’ and participants’ homes and into community settings
  • Successfully pass backgrounds checks and drug screens  
  • NOTICE: Successful completion of a drug screen prior to employment includes medical and recreational marijuana.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop Positive Behavior Supports Plans (POC) for participants in Kentucky’s 1915(c) Waiver programs
  • Provide evidence-based, individualized interventions that assist a participant with acquisition or maintenance of skills for community living and behavioral intervention for the reduction of challenging behaviors.
  • Analyze data concerning the frequency, intensity, and duration of behavior(s), provide reports, graphs and monthly summaries which assess the participant’s progress and or status related to the plan of care, and provide updates to the behavioral support plan as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner as outlined in policy (i.e. functional assessment, behavior support plan, etc.)
  • Maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, TB screenings and all other necessary trainings)
  • Adheres to Marshall Pediatric Therapy behavior support specialist policies and procedures

Skills Required
