Schedule: Fee for service; Flexible schedule based on caseload.

Position Details

The Behavior Consultant develops and oversees individualized behavior intervention plans for children and adolescents in Mifflin and Juniata Counties. This role provides assessment, consultation, and progress monitoring across home, school, and community settings. The consultant observes behaviors in natural environments, collaborates with parents, teachers, and treatment team members, recommends non-aversive interventions, and supports coordinated, family-focused care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans, including goal setting and selection of evidence‑based, non‑aversive strategies.
  • Collaborate with Mobile Therapists and treatment team members, providing expert consultation and support throughout the treatment process.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and monitor progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and family‑focused consultations, including school‑based or community meetings when behavioral guidance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet ONE of the following qualification pathways:

  • Licensed as a Behavior Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania; OR
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA); OR
  • Graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from an accredited college or university; OR
  • Graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited college or university AND has a minimum of one (1) year of full‑time experience providing direct mental health services to children and young adults (ages 0–21); OR
  • Graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND has completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum.

Professional Licensure Preferred (Autism Services):
Candidates assigned to provide services to individuals with autism must also possess an active Pennsylvania license as one of the following: psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, or certified registered nurse practitioner.
