Summary
The ideal candidate will supervise and coordinates the activities of all stewards to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Clean and maintain equipment in dishwashing, kitchen, compactor and storage areas. Setup wares and banquet equipment for all banquet events and assist culinary team in plating meals and transporting all supplies and food item to banquet service areas.
Essential Functions
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Supervise and direct staff, including temporary personnel.
- Monitor and maintain sanitation and organization of assigned work areas, kitchen, storage areas, loading dock and garbage areas.
- Check the working condition of dish washing machines in accordance with specifications. Fill with designated chemicals and ensure the temperature level is set to standards.
- Clean and dry floors to avoid slip and fall accidents.
- Manage all cleaned and soiled linen and napkins delivery.
- Ensure proper set up of all banquet functions on his/her shift.
- Ensure all food and equipment on menus are delivered on time to all functions.
- Assist culinary team with plating up banquet meals.
- Ensure that all dirty China, glassware and silverware used are washed and put back to their proper storage locations.
- Perform other duties as requested, such as emptying trash containers or executing special guest requests.

Has regular contact with rental companies when renting equipment, vendors that provides our chemical supplies.
Qualifications
- Ability to read English language to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials.
- Ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges.
- Sourcing, ordering and receiving the highest quality ingredients.
- Unpacking, organizing and storing of products coming to the restaurant.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Organizing and hold stewarding team accountable for their responsibilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum 0–1 year experience as a Porter, Dishwasher, Janitor or similar role.
- Dependable, hard-working, and punctual a must.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Open availability a must – both daytime and nighttime schedules available.
Physical Requirements
Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
