To support the achievement of Sandoz business goals by implementing value-based
solutions with designated Key Accounts and key accounts customers; to be responsible for the achievement of KAM targets on assigned accounts; to establish Sandoz as the preferred partner of choice with assigned Key Accounts; to support the creation of a customer-centric approach across the Country.
Drive growth in Sandoz International Region (SIR) by ensuring the execution of product in-licensing deals in line with Sandoz’ strategy across Middle East and Africa with special focus on Saudi Arabian market.
Job Description
Major Accountabilities
- Ensure the timely execution of product in-licensing deals in line with Sandoz’ strategy for Middle East and Africa
- Collaborate closely with central BD team as well as regional portfolio, launches, strategy and franchises to ensure ongoing projects are in line with regional focus areas and priorities
- Ensure deal execution according to Business Development processes and guidelines
- Execute the complete process of a deal (search, assessment, negotiation, contracting, implementation into project and launch management) in view of a first-to-market strategy
- Ensure internal cross-functional deal alignment and due diligence in line with applicable internal policies and guidelines, involving all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, Intellectual Property, Novartis TechOps, Finance)
- Provide regular reporting on Business Development activities to relevant Regional and Global functions
- Establish/reinforce contacts and position Sandoz as ‘Partner of Choice’ with key partners
Key Performance Indicators
- Number of deals singed and combined launch plus 5-year cumulative sales in line with targets set
- Internal business case (CAR) in line with defined internal criteria
- Time to market in designated SIR markets
- Identification of a suitable and reliable license and supply partner
- No 3rd party intellectual property rights infringement
- Products within the agreements signed meet all applicable GxP requirements, i.e. GLP, GCP and GMP in development and manufacturing
- High dossier quality, incl. proven stability and shelf-life
Education
- University Degree in a scientific or business filed
Languages
- Fluency in English – required
- Good level Arabic – advantageous
Experience
- Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development and licensing in the Middle East, with ideally extensive knowledge of the Saudi market
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development and licensing in the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong financial modelling and valuations skills and in-depth understanding of main financial valuation methods
- Strong hands-on approach combined with business acumen and strategic thinking
- Proven cross-functional project leadership skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Computer literacy
